: Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia
This movie set was created for a 2002 film "The Drover's Boy". Ted Egan developed the set but the movie was never completed in it's entirety but the film set remains.
Several international film companies have enjoyed our Red Centre scenery, as we are situated between the red sand hills and desert oaks of the Simpson desert, and the Ghost gums and spectacular rocky outcrops of the McDonnell ranges.
Set in the foothills of the Australian desert landscape, consisting of a "Pub" and many surrounding buildings (facades) the township is the perfect set for the quintessential Australian Outback Feature film. Surrounded by spinnifex and red Australian Centre desert earth, many filmcrews have enjoyed the environment hosted by Ooraminna Outback Events.
Location fees are competitive and catering is available onsite.
Props room on site also and local industry can cater for most requirements.

We were the first guests for a long time as the business had not been up and running.
Drove into the old movie set, reminded us of the wild west cowboy films.
Had a beer by the campfire followed by a beautiful meal served by welcoming hosts.
Quirky place, good accommodation, ripper shower. A pity we couldn't stay longer, we had to go to Birdsville next.
