List your property as a location rental

HOW LIST YOUR PROPERTY AS A FILM LOCATIONList your house for movies and television commercials

Filming Location Wanted and our sister site Film Locations Wanted provides an extensive list of location properties of numerous locations throughout the world. We often receive emails and calls  from owners who want to list their commercial and residential property as a film, photography and event location rental from all over the globe.

We get questions on how to list and what type of property is needed.

What types of properties are needed?

Any type of property is a potential film location. Virtually anything you can imagine can be requested including:

  • Abandoned buildings and houses
  • Businesses of all types and sizes
  • Mansions
  • Warehouses
  • Apartment buildings
  • and the list never ends…

Following is information on how to submit your property on our web sites for consideration by scouts seeking various location venues.

What is the first step:

Register to put your property profile on the website. There is no charge to register as a property owner. Once registered and logged in, proceed to the “list your property page”  and select your options on how long and how many photos you are listing for your property.

Once you are on the add details page, fill out the details of your property completely and be as detailed as possible in order to provide a scout with enough information to determine if your location is what they may be looking for. In the details section of your property profile include everything about your property as possible to include a description of the  interior as well as exterior. Include anything else that that may interest them such as any unique features and areas of the home or business, inside and out.

Examples:Generate Income rent your house for television and movies film

  • Type of Property: (house, restaurant, building, apartments, warehouse and so forth)
  • Square footage of your space(s)
  • Detailed Description of the property: (Interior and Exterior)
  • Surrounding Area (is your property near a lake, beach, have views, in the woods, on a residential block, near other office buildings, surrounding businesses, a nearby park, cemetery and so forth)

Once your details are entered, click continue and proceed to upload your photos. NOTE: Photographs of the property are very important as a location scout will use them to determine if your property fits the criteria needed for the project!  Photos of your property do NOT have to be professionally taken, however, be sure that all photos are clear, well lit, crisp and really give an overview of your property inside and out.

NOTE: In addition to the property details, your contact information is also important, be sure to include direct contact information via phone and email. Most scouts are on time constraints and need to contact you ASAP regarding any questions or to schedule a “go see”, (appointment) to see your property.

What To Expect

How we Market Your Property

Your details and photos will be added to the web site after reviewed and approved by our location assistants. Upon approval, your property profile will then be added to the database and activated so you can manage, update and be viewable by production company scouts worldwide.

If a scout is interested in your property, you will be contacted by  a representative of the production company to set up a time to see your location. They will be arranging a time with you to visit and determine if the property fits their needs. If your location is chosen, you will work directly with the production company regarding the specifics including rental price. This visit does not mean they will be using the property but will be a visit to see if the property is what they need for the project and to discuss any details.

If you have additional questions or need assistance, feel free to contact our location project manager Chris Johnson.
